Lifeguard Competition

CANCELLED FOR THIS SUMMER

UNI Wellness and Recreation Center, Cedar Falls

The Hawkeye Chapter Health & Safety Department is organizing a lifeguarding competition this summer. It has been a number of years since such a competition has been held in the area.

 

Event co-sponsored: American Red Cross Hawkeye Chapter -  Black Hawk Family YMCA -

UNI-Wellness and Recreation Center

 

Events to include:

  • Active & Passive Victim Rescue

  • Shallow Water Injury

  • Management, Stroke Relay

  • First Aid

  • CPR/AED for the Professional Skills Test.

Fun fact: Four Red Cross Chapters in east central Iowa have trained over

2,000 lifeguards since 2005.

Lifeguard Instructor Trainers (LG-IT) are needed to serve as judges and

Lifeguard Instructors (LGI) are needed to be victims.
