	The Generosity of the People
As a voluntary organization, the American Red Cross depends on the generosity of people for both their time and money to provide disaster relief, quality health and safety training and assistance to Blood Services. The Red Cross has provided services to our community since 1916 and the need for volunteers only increases with our population and needs.
	The Benefits
The benefits of Volunteering is limitless if you enjoy helping people. Here are just a few examples. Become a valuable asset your workplace/church/club by providing safety training in CPR and First Aid. Gives you an impressive enhancement to your resume and/or portfolio that shows you care. Self-gratification in knowing you are volunteering for a worthwhile organization that is recognized and respected worldwide. Meet people and make friends. Meet other volunteers and also the people that we serve in our community. Retirees - Use the people skills and acquired skills that you have used all of your working life. Red Cross has many areas needing your help and at your own choice of time! Travel - Join Emergency Services and travel to destinations where disasters have occurred and help people get back on their feet.
